In this piece “Troubled Waters” the artists explore the idea of abstracting two-dementionality typical of traditional painting by layering flat three dimensional objects, created by a machine, reifying a literal depth to the work. Their use of a cnc machine and laser cutter weaves together the hand of the artist and machine, which is a repetitive theme in the artist's work.
