Cyanotype on watercolor paper 10″ x 8″, mounted on white 14″ x 11″ acid-free mat board.
Ornamental Grass Two is an original cyanotype on archival watercolor paper. These grasses grow in my Colorado high alpine garden. The grasses used in this piece grow in my high-altitude garden in Colorado. I am drawn to their graceful movement in the breeze, the way they catch and reflect shifting light, and their role in providing food and habitat for wildlife.
Cyanotype is one of photography’s oldest printing processes, known for its distinctive cyan-blue color created through exposure to ultraviolet light. For this piece, I placed grasses from my garden directly onto the treated paper, where they blocked the UV rays and created delicate botanical silhouettes.
