Nature Medley One is the first of a pair of companion paintings. It is a soothing abstract nature collage painting depicting the serene tones of wood, wool, and leaves. Patterns and textures are all around us. The nubby surface of a knitted sweater and the smooth feel of granite tile are but two examples. I have blended my favorites in striped vignettes of natural and man-made objects. The neutral color palette holds the elements together, while their contrast of shapes and textures adds interest in every stripe.
