ILANEL is a Melbourne-based design studio established in 2010. We specialise in bespoke lighting and LightArt, merging architectural discipline with industrial design to animate and redefine interior and civic spaces.

Founded by Ilan El, the practice treats light as a primary structural medium rather than a secondary decorative element. From museum-grade interventions for the NGV Triennial to national landmarks like the Canberra Beacon at the Australian War Memorial, our work identifies the liminal point where physical form surrenders to phenomenon.

Our multidisciplinary expression forms objects, artworks, and luminaries that are handcrafted by local artisans in our atelier. These pieces are made-to-order or custom-designed for prestige residential, commercial, and global hospitality projects, including commissions for the Four Seasons Doha and The Hour Glass boutique store.

With over 15 years of local production and international reach, ILANEL continues to meet the demands of modern architecture with high-performance systems that garner an effect of contemplation.
