When I was young, I loved riding my bike through the suburban tract housing where I lived, over to the edge of town where the apricot orchards and meadows had yet to be bulldozed. This painting depicts the carefree time of exploring my neighborhood. Today, those open spaces are gone as the entire area is fully developed and home to Google's headquarters.
