“Chinese violet and Begonia” is an original cyanotype with light touches of watercolor. These two luscious shade plants thrive in my Florida garden, showing off their large droopy clusters of flowers. Cyanotypes are one of photography's oldest printing processes. This one-of-a-kind print features a distinctive cyan blue shade, which results from its exposure to ultraviolet light. I used plants from my garden to block the UV rays and create unique, botanical silhouettes. Additional chemicals, dyes, and watercolors are added to create a truly one-of-a-kind artwork.
