TRIPOD Low Black Side Table by Donatas Zukauskas

A sculptural bio cement side table on three legs — elemental in form, raw at the surface, and deliberate in proportion. The TRIPOD Low sits closer to the floor than the High variant, making it better suited to low seating arrangements, coffee table use, or placement alongside a daybed or lounge chair. In black composite, its surface reads as dense and volcanic — archaic and contemporary at once.

The material is developed through years of personal experimentation: recycled paper pulp and cardboard — the second life of wood — combined with organic cement, binders, and paint to produce a composite that looks like cast stone but behaves differently. It is lighter than real concrete, slightly elastic rather than brittle, and sealed for long-term indoor durability. Donatas calls it the third life of wood: a material given entirely new properties through process.

The textured surface is intentionally irregular — subtle variations and marks are part of the material's natural expression. The TRIPOD does not conceal its making. Imperfection as a way to create beauty.

Each piece is handmade and unique — minor variations in texture and form are intentional and part of the design. Made-to-order. Custom dimensions available on request. Trade pricing available. Ships internationally. Lead time 4–8 weeks.

Designed, crafted and built by Donatas Zukauskas — a Lithuanian sculptor and designer whose furniture sits at the intersection of brutalist materiality and quiet, considered form.

Third Tree Life

Sculptural furniture and interior objects for residential and hospitality projects. Trade pricing and custom commissions available for interior designers and architects.

“Imperfection as a way to create beauty” defines my work. Cracks, splits, and unpredictable textures are intentionally embraced and shaped into expressive, sculptural forms.

I am an interior designer and creator based in Lithuania, with over 15 years of experience. I work with a unique concrete-like material made primarily from paper pulp — strong like wood, visually similar to concrete, and slightly elastic, allowing for durable yet organic surfaces.

My works are featured in private interiors across the USA, UK, Australia, and France, including hospitality projects such as the Sheraton Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
