What makes a special piece of Jewelry? Color, shape, size, brilliance! This stunner had it all. The abstraction in the facets is what facinates me. I can look at all the little intricacies for long minutes. The background is a layer of dark brown with a layer of dark purple over that. It makes a beautiful velvet presentation, just like in the jewelry store. The diamonds looks so bold with the addition of the black facets. It amazes that diamonds shine not just due to the light, but the shadows play such an important role. The original oil painting is an 18" x 18" on canvas panel.
