Hand woven in Turkey originating between 1950-1960, this vintage mid-century kilim rug enjoys a Soumak style weave thicker and more durable than typical kilim, a fine complement to the classic play of crimson red and blue as well as the crisp white juxtaposing the traditional portrait. The versatile size lends itself both to flooring and wall hanging projects, as does the time-honored repetition of the celebrated diamond and ram's horn patterns (widely believed to be protective symbols in varied nomadic Oriental cultures).
