Handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960, this vintage 2x4 Afghan Kilim and tribal scatter rug is from a new acquisition in Rug & Kilim’s mid-century rugs. On the Design: The flatweave enjoys polychromatic geometric patterns, favoring ram’s horn, hooks, and similar tribal motifs. Keen eyes will admire rust and golden-brown undertones to the field, while black tones underscore the borders. The combination of both rich and playful jewel tone colors is exemplary of this tribal rug provenance as well. Condition: The kilim thrives in good condition for its age and lineage.
