The Kyushu is a Roman travertine side table, a compact, self-contained table built around a single block of travertine. There is nothing applied or ornamental about it, the form pared back so the travertine carries the piece.

Roman travertine is the stone of ancient Rome, formed in the mineral springs around Tivoli and used across the Colosseum and the colonnades of St Peter's Square. It carries a soft, creamy beige tone, its delicate linear veining and gently layered structure warmer and more understated than the marbles. These tops are cut from natural stone, and no two of these Roman travertine side tables are ever quite alike.

The base is the quieter feat. Two slabs of the same travertine are notched and set at right angles, one passing through the other, so the side table carries itself with no brackets and no visible fixing. What holds the piece up is exactly what draws the eye, an interlocking cross-leg join left plain as the only ornament the design permits.

As a Roman travertine side table it settles a space rather than crowding it, at home beside a sofa or a favourite chair. Like every Lebanto piece, the Kyushu is made to order in Cantù, in the historic heart of Lombardy's furniture district, from a curated palette of full-slab stone, solid timber, and premium Italian glass.

Soft minimal luxury furniture in noble materials. Handcrafted in Italy for designers & hospitality.

Lebanto is a contemporary Italian furniture brand rooted in Cantù, the historic woodworking town set between Milan and Lake Como. Founded in 2022 by a couple working between design and engineering, the brand uses the depth of this craft tradition to produce something deliberately removed from the conventional Italian vocabulary: a quieter, more sculptural language where material leads the form.

Material is not an accent in the Lebanto collections; it is the design. Calacatta Viola, Roman Travertine, and Emperador Dark sit alongside hand-finished glass as the primary expressive surfaces, with forms developed to reveal depth, veining, and transparency rather than to decorate them. The catalog concentrates on a few archetypes, coffee tables, low consoles, and occasional pieces, refined over time rather than expanded for novelty.

What sets the work apart is a sensibility shaped by distant influences. The pieces carry a Nordic and Eastern restraint, with disciplined proportions, a respect for emptiness, and surfaces meant to be read slowly, folded into the structural confidence of the Italian heritage. The result is furniture that feels at once familiar and unplaceable: warmer than minimalism, quieter than design, with a stillness that asks the room to slow down.

Every Lebanto piece is made to order in Italy, with a short production lead time and the flexibility to adapt finishes, dimensions, and materials to the specific demands of trade clients. The brand works primarily with architects, interior designers, and showrooms across the United States and Europe, supporting residential and hospitality projects.
