The Scarlet Horizon — Japanese Ceremonial Silk Table Runner, Ombré in Scarlet and Bordeaux - Linens & Bedding
Price £288
The scarlet horizon. The graduated dye that holds three temperatures of red in one cloth — scarlet, vermilion, and the deeper bordeaux of evening. A Japanese ceremonial silk table runner, cut from a single obi and finished at the Renaras atelier in Amsterdam. The subtle ribbed weave catches light differently across the dynamic ombré, the silk shifting from bright scarlet through vermilion into deeper bordeaux as the eye moves along its length. The ribbed structure animates the colour transition with quiet tactile rhythm. The scarlet gives the composition its energy. The bordeaux gives it its dusk. A runner for a winter table, its three reds warming from the centre outwards as the evening does. The runner is lined in undyed silk to protect the face. No metal touches the visible silk. Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life. Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.
