30" x 45" Acrylic painting on Canvas
The idea that I had for this work, was to paint a picture of a woman who the viewer would immediately recognize as being in a deeply pensive state. It was also important that the figure appear enigmatic. As I created the piece I thought of a woman who has a secret, one that she was hoping against all hope, will remain hidden Her closed, well emphasized eyes helped to attain to add to the overall impression. And adding heavy texture and only minimal color to the otherwise black and white painting, further added to the mood and impression of the work.
The work is hand painted on stretched gallery wrapped canvas. The stretched canvas is then placed within a slim black wood frame leaving a 1/8” space between the canvas and the frame for a modern clean finished look. This gives the impression that the canvas is floating within the frame.
This work is also available as a Metal print covered with acrylic, or as a Giclee print on paper Contact me if you prefer either of these materials.
