Inspired by moments of spontaneous joy, The Big Laugh belongs to a series centered on graphic loops that reflect life’s cyclical movements and our shared human experience. Featuring sweeping loops of rich emerald, deep violet, and vibrant chartreuse, the forms overlap in a warm, physical embrace that speaks to the interconnectedness of things. Working with rich, heavy-body acrylics allows me to leave visible brush signatures that give these bold shapes an intimate, handmade rhythm. The painting is finished with a protective matte varnish, housed in a minimal natural wood float frame, and fitted with hanging wire on the back. My intent is for this piece to bring a spirited, inviting, and reassuring presence into any contemporary space.
