This work is a limited edition giclee print on archival cotton rag paper, signed and numbered. The image size is 8" X 10" and the paper size is 10" X 12". The original painting is gouache on paper and is created in a "colorist" style with strong line, shape and gesture influenced by jazz music and the buoyant color and light of the American South. It is part of a series titled "Springtime is Happening" created during the pandemic as I found myself, in an unexpected turn of circumstances, returning from New York City to my hometown in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, reminding myself that as everything in the world closes, springtime is happening, and there is hope.

I explore color in my work to illuminate the terrain of the subconscious, cinematographic “snapshots”. Inspired by music and dance, my marks resonate like patterns of song, poems from my experience, travels, dreams, and buoyant desires.
