Creating minimal, collectable furniture since 1998.
Founded by Leslie Shapiro Joyal in 1998, the studio produces an evergreen collection of furniture focusing on the use of solid wood. Their forms, craftsmanship and spirit take cues from the purist philosophies found in Japanese, Shaker and Mid-Century design.
A native of Los Angeles, Leslie has worked in the architecture and design industry for over 40 years. The studio features collections of modern pieces which have an understated elegance; designs are minimal, clean and of rare craftsmanship. A commitment to sound design principles and skilled workmanship is inherent in every piece. Team members act on the belief that the smaller studio can be involved in the entire process, and therefore put forth great work, work that has timelessness and longevity.
This tenet successfully filled a void in the marketplace, not only cultivating a loyal following of architects, designers and like-minded clientele, but also began the paradigm shift towards American made, handcrafted furniture.
