"Severance" is a contemporary steel sculpture defined by controlled displacement within a singular vertical form. Two geometric volumes shift past one another along a precise diagonal interruption, creating tension through separation while maintaining structural stability and composure. The work emphasizes proportion, alignment, and interruption as its primary visual language.
Fabricated entirely from steel and finished in a fine-texture matte black powder coat, the surface absorbs light and sharpens the clarity of its planes and edges. The restrained matte finish reinforces the sculpture’s architectural presence while providing long-term durability for both interior and exterior environments.
Severance is part of the artist’s Obsidian Series, a body of work focused on architectural form, material restraint, and spatial clarity.
