This painting was inspired by a seagull I met on a beach in Nova Scotia. He had a very pitiful wobbly leg, but it didn't slow him down at all!
A group of people went for a swim, and he sauntered over to their picnic and started digging through every open snack bag. Chips, cookies, whatever he could get his beak into.
I warned the folks, and they shooed him off. I felt bad for him!
I worked on this painting during our weekly live streams. You can watch the painting process on our YouTube channel 🎨
A funny, character-filled bird art print for beach lovers, coastal decor, or anyone who's ever lost a sandwich to a seagull.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Catherine Hébert is a wildlife and animal artist based in Montreal, Canada. She has a background in visual effects and brings that same eye for detail and colour to every painting. Many of her pieces are inspired by real animals she's met. A crow on a hotel balcony in DC, a round pigeon in a Seoul subway station, a pheasant who keeps showing up in her sister's yard in Nova Scotia. She also paints live during her weekly Thursday evening livestream, where viewers hang out, chat, and sometimes even name the paintings!
ABOUT THE PRINT:
Giclée printed on Epson Hot Press Bright White Fine Art Paper with dye-based archival inks designed to last. Also available framed in premium oak frames with tempered glass.
We work with giclée printing partners across Canada, the US and the UK for the highest possible quality and faster shipping.
Smaller prints ship flat in stiff cardboard envelopes. Larger prints ship in protective cardboard tubes.
Fine art prints can scratch with handling, so we recommend avoiding touching the printed surface.
