Part of the four-piece Redwood Reverence collection, this one-of-a-kind side table explores the relationship between the redwood’s untamed natural form and a restrained architectural framework.

A richly figured redwood burl top rests within a slender black steel frame. Rather than ending at the tabletop, sections of the burl descend along the sides like roots, branches, or fragments of a forest suspended in space. A second redwood composition forms the lower shelf, giving the table depth and a different sculptural view from every angle.

Natural voids and separations are preserved with black epoxy, while contrasting bow-tie inlays bridge divided areas of the wood. Throughout the collection, these bow ties represent bridges in the woods—connections between separated forms and between the past and what lies ahead.

A crystal-clear, high-gloss epoxy finish intensifies the redwood’s amber, copper, and burgundy figure. Clear acrylic feet visually lift the black steel frame from the floor, creating a subtle sense of weightlessness beneath the substantial organic forms.

Inspired by a blissful walk through Muir Woods with my boyfriend and daughter, Redwood Reverence reflects peace, belonging, memory, and connection beneath the redwoods.

This is the original, one-of-a-kind side table shown and is currently available for purchase. Handcrafted in San Francisco by DapperwoodSF.
