Artistic solid wood console table made of a hand-selected Claro Walnut Slab that has exhibition-quality figure; book-matched and with an asymmetrical shape including opposing radii. The Legs are a White Oak glue up with fanciful attention to grain pattern and then hand-sculpted into an ovoid profile and then white-washed by design. The top has a hand-applied/rubbed oil finish as I often do with my fine furniture. I did the design of this piece in collaboration with https://www.instagram.com/stumpshed_living/ Additionally, this piece was done in 2 different versions - ONE with the exposed end-grain of the legs (along the top and with a very unique and desired appearance), and a SECOND with hand forged and patina'd CAPS made by a friend of ours and artists at https://www.instagram.com/gad.artandfabrication/ that we exposed in height for prominence and an additional element of 3D. This piece is 80"W x 22"D x 30"H, although I'd also be glad to scale it as desired, explore similar or different materials, and even alter the contours of the elements chosen.

Wooden Imagination is a design-build workshop producing all styles of custom and selective off-the-shelf pieces as well as artistic and sculptural designs and various open/closed turned vessels

Mike Fister has been designing building furniture all of his life. After a long career in high tech, I concentrate mostly on furniture commissions, custom cabinetry, and explore a myriad of turned vessels and art objects. Operating from a dedicated commercial workshop, I prefer to design from concepts and use precious materials that can be hand finished (as opposed to painted material) and selected to allow the natural grain of the wood to incorporate into the objects. The collage above represents a very small cross-section ranging from musical instruments, natural slabs, turnings, and art nouveau. My furniture interests range from traditional to contemporary and incorporate mixed materials like glass and integrated lighting at all types of scale.
