Hand-knotted in wool, this 2x4 Baluch Afghan rug represents a new line of tribal carpets in the Modern Classics Collection by Rug & Kilim. Each piece represents the work of women weavers in Afghanistan, preserving the rich tradition of their centuries-old craft. On the Design: The piece carries tribal geometric patterns in rich tones of red & black. A keen eye will note hints of blue in the background with subtle beige detailing in the patterns. The rug exemplifies nomadic aesthetics with tassels on a pair of parallel borders of the frame - further contributing to its collectibility. In 1989, Rug & Kilim celebrated a major milestone with the opening of its second store in Morristown, New Jersey. The business quickly established itself as a national source for the finest Oriental rugs, offering a wide-ranging collection from Persia, Tibet, India, Pakistan, Russia, and China. Known for its expertise, curated selection, and exceptional customer service, Rug & Kilim became synonymous with quality, integrity, and a deep understanding of color and design.
