The Artistry
By meticulously researching ancient Chinese texts on silk techniques, Yuchen has pioneered innovations in light and texture, creatively applying the timeless heritage of Suzhou embroidery to Impressionist masterpieces Water Lilies.
This is a definitive piece of Craft Evolution. Reimagining Claude Monet’s Water Lilies through the lens of ancient Suzhou silk artistry, this circular masterpiece is a re-sculpting of light and water. Utilizing the prestigious random-Stitch technique, our artisans spent over months layering fine mulberry silk threads. Unlike traditional flat embroidery, this method allows for an impressionistic impasto effect where silk filaments are split to 1/16th of their natural diameter to capture the ephemeral transitions of light and shadow.
Visual Experience
The directional silk reflection creates a dynamic viewing experience. As you move, the luster of the silk shifts, mimicking the actual flow of water and the depth of the pond. It is a museum-grade portable library of cultural legacy.
