I use plants and mushrooms to create works on paper that are both ephemeral and familiar

Artist Madge Evers is the author of Printing WIth the Sun (Storey, 2026), a book about the cyanotype process. Her work explores the transformative cycles of dormancy and ecstatic growth in plant life using alternative photography, mushroom spores, and painting. Madge's work depicts landscape details as well imagined flora. She artist has participated in exhibitions at the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Danforth Museum of Art, the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, and Kingston Gallery in Boston, among others. Evers attended the artist residency at Chautauqua Arts (2024) and residencies at Cill Rialaig, Kerry, Ireland and the Oak Spring Garden Foundation (2023). She also participated in artist residencies at the Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies, UMass Amherst, Mount Auburn Cemetery, and Eastern Frontier Educational Foundation (2022). In 2021, Evers was a Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowship Finalist in Photography and a Photolucida Critical Mass top 200 in 2019. Evers lives and works in western Massachusetts.
