Materials: Cotton, wool, turquoise, copper, botanical dyes
Story: Adan is Josh's brother. He and Gabby had just gotten married and moved to Hawaii. This was my wedding gift to them. Gabby wanted yellow. A specific, warm yellow. So I experimented: turmeric, pineapple juice, mustard seeds — layering until I found it. The wool is Peruvian. At the center sits a turquoise crystal. Turquoise for love, unity, and strength. I was pregnant with Esteban when I made this. We hadn't told the family yet. I was emotional the entire time — making something for a new beginning, while quietly carrying one of my own.
