"Diascund Creek" was a custom commissioned project for a private collector, inspired by the river near their home. Suspended on a natural branch, this handwoven wall hanging measures 8 feet wide and over 10 feet tall.
Materials include cotton, wool, recycled silk, yak, and other natural fibers. The textures vary in depth, with the maximum depth protruding about 4-5 inches off the wall.
This is a highly unique and carefully crafted piece of art unlike any other. The amount of intention and meaning that is woven into each piece is felt when the viewer rests their eyes on the piece, quickly getting lost in the varying textures, organic movement, and soft lines created by sculpted fiber.
This large-scale woven wall hanging is undeniably stunning and ideal for any home that wishes to make a statement. The intricate and detailed pattern creates a stunning visual effect, while the fully customizable piece ensures that it will fit perfectly with anyone's decor and create the perfect focal point. The soft sculpture of fiber creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, bringing a sense of familiarity and softness to the wall.
THIS PIECE IS MADE TO ORDER.
Customizations to the color palette or design are welcome—just let me know what you're envisioning. While I aim to stay true to the original design, each piece is handwoven with an intuitive approach, allowing for subtle variations and one-of-a-kind details.
Lead times typically range from 3–6 months and may vary based on my current workload. Pricing can also shift slightly depending on materials and project scope. To inquire about a commission, please message me directly or fill out the form at rebeccawhitakerart.com.
