"New Mexico" is inspired by a trip through the state taking in the vast terracotta and clay tinted canyons and rustic landscape. It is a textured acrylic painting on heavyweight paper with collage pieces added. Layers of paint create texture while the stripes represent the stone layers in the landscape.

I live in Austin, Texas, where the desert landscape deeply influences my palette and textures. Memories of my previous homes—among the greenery of upstate New York, the redwoods of California, the fields of Sonoma county, and the rice terraces of Bali—continue to shape my artistic vision. Together, these places remind me of the enduring importance of keeping nature close in our ever-modern world.
