"Mullock" is part of a series I call "reclaimed book works." I am drawn to the beauty found in old books; their yellowed and stained pages, and I use these aspects to their advantage in my work. I use the sewing machine to "collage" with instead of glue. I love the rhythmic stitching in the zigzag stitch and how it intertwines with abstract shapes. The monochrome palette highlights the textures of the paper, thread, and printmaking ink, while the composition features a captivating interplay of zigzags, arches, and grids.
