The Moon Side Table is a hand-crafted wood and cork sculptural object from the Erosion Collection by Gabor Gobi, assembled from repurposed wood and cork into a low, settled form. Its near-square footprint reads as stable and unhurried; the Yakisugi-charred surface and integrated cork resist the precision of conventional furniture — resulting in something that feels arrived at rather than produced.
Each Erosion piece starts with material already shaped by time — reclaimed wood, leftover limestone, cork. The Yakisugi charring intensifies what the surface already holds, before natural oils and beeswax are applied. Carving follows grain and imperfection rather than smoothing them over.
Every mark of the process remains visible: scorched, worked, sealed into a texture simultaneously deliberate and worn. Where materials meet, the boundary dissolves. Light behaves differently on each surface.
