This one was inspired by a crow we met on a hotel balcony in Washington, DC. We were just hanging out when he landed on the next balcony over. We called out to him and he actually flew over and hung out with us for almost an hour. Just chilled there with us.
I couldn't stop thinking about him, so I painted him. Now he lives on as Crownelius Crowmwell, a moody little painting of one very opinionated city crow.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Catherine Hébert is a wildlife and animal artist based in Montreal, Canada. She has a background in visual effects and brings that same eye for detail and colour to every painting. Many of her pieces are inspired by real animals she's met. A crow on a hotel balcony in DC, a round pigeon in a Seoul subway station, a pheasant who keeps showing up in her sister's yard in Nova Scotia. She also paints live during her weekly Thursday evening livestream, where viewers hang out, chat, and sometimes even name the paintings!
