Superfine Merino Wool Roving | 16–18 Micron | 500g or 1kg (Also Available in Pounds)

This premium Australian merino roving is exceptionally soft, luxuriously smooth, and features an impressively long staple—perfect for high-end textile projects. Offered in 500-gram or 1 lb bumps, it is ideal for super chunky knitting, spinning, felting, or weaving. I personally use this roving in my own studio for dyeing and weaving, and its quality is truly unmatched.

Merino wool is naturally temperature-regulating—keeping you warm in cool conditions and cool when it’s warm—while its natural elasticity helps it retain shape beautifully. At 16–18 microns, this roving is among the softest fibers available, making it a joy to work with and wear.

Please note: In its roving state, the fiber is delicate. While you can knit directly with it, all finished pieces in my shop have been felted to increase durability. If you’d like your merino roving pre-felted, dyed, and ready for immediate knitting, please see my alternate listing here: Dyed Merino Wool Roving – Superfine 16 Micron.

Fiber art to bring texture and warmth into your space

My name is Camille, I'm a Denver, Colorado based fiber artist. All of my weavings and tapestries are made from merino wool that is hand dyed and felted in my studio. I specialize in larger scale projects and delight in working with clients to achieve the perfect colors and textures to compliment their space. I'm frequently inspired by nature, especially mountains, rivers and the sea and I love to create work that reflects the natural surroundings of my client's homes. I'm new to wescover, but very excited to be here!
