The Melo M Table Lamp is a sculptural ceramic table lamp by UK-based ceramicist Catalin Filip — larger in scale than its Melo siblings, its twin-columned stoneware body folded and settled under gravity into something that reads less as designed and more as discovered. It commands a surface without raising its voice.
Each piece in the Melo collection begins as a simple cylinder of stoneware. Left to respond to gravity, the wet clay sags, folds, and settles into a form no drawing could have anticipated. Filip dries it quickly — at exactly the moment the material finds its shape — fixing the movement permanently into something stone-like and still.
The textured natural exterior holds the character of raw stoneware — matte, earth-toned, honest. Inside, an antique white glaze catches and diffuses warmth, casting soft light that sits comfortably between focused task use and gentle ambient glow.
The lamp suits a console, sideboard, or studio surface in residential and boutique commercial spaces alike. It works as a reading light or as a soft ambient presence. Compatible with 110–130V and 220–230V systems.
Catalin Filip (b. 1989) is a Romanian-born, UK-based ceramicist and designer who develops his techniques through intuitive experimentation and trial and error. Self-taught in clay, he brings an architectural eye to functional sculpture — making objects that balance process and purpose.
