My sculptural work delves into the intricate tapestry of femininity, celebrating the female body as a manifestation of strength, resilience, and beauty. With two daughters of my own, I am deeply motivated to explore the psychological and physical dimensions of womanhood, questioning societal norms and advocating for self-acceptance and empowerment. Through my art, I aim to spark conversations about identity and the perception of beauty, inviting viewers to embrace the diversity and complexity of the human experience.

Wescover creator since 2019
From mixing custom clay to designing the object, every piece goes through several work stages and becomes unreproducibly unique!

Catharina Goldnau explores transitions, juxtaposing traditions and materials in sculptural work that borders functionality. Born next to the Iron Curtain in Germany, she later studied ceramics at Sheridan College, Canada.
Every piece of Catharina’s art is a one-of-a-kind creation, from ornamental jewelry boxes to sculptural bowls. She explores unconventional ways to manipulate clay, combining materials to create new forms and surfaces. High-temperature firings give the pieces the last chance to move and transform. Resins and textiles are often used for post-firing completion.
Catharina is an award-winning graduate with a BA in Craft and Design with a specialty in Ceramics from Sheridan College.
