Light, Abiding is built from scattered points of light across open water - soft at the surface, deepening below, glittering but unhurried. I sat with for a long time, and I chose it with real intention: an abiding presence, something steady that doesn't waver even when everything else feels uncertain. I know what it means to wait in an ICU waiting room, and I wanted this piece to hold that same quiet, glittering calm for anyone sitting with it - a presence that simply stays.
This is an original oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas, built up through many thin layers of transparent oil glaze for depth and luminosity.
