Meet Jo. Boots planted, arms crossed, perfectly content to do things her own way. Jo pulled up a chair and stayed awhile. She’d come to return a casserole dish. That was two hours ago. She wasn’t much for small talk, but she remembered all the things. How you took your coffee. What day your mother’s surgery was. Which neighbor still had her good ladder. Ask her for advice and she’d tell you the truth. Ask her for help and she’d be halfway to the truck before you finished. Jo is a good friend to have. This original painting pairs soft mint and dusty pink with warm earth tones, dark boots, and a lively red-striped backdrop, remnant fabric from Mended Co. Loose marks and layered texture bring a timeworn feel to her oversized hat and easy Western confidence. A little sweetness. Plenty of presence.
