The vision for this piece was born during founder Yuchen's journey to Tibet. Deeply moved by the devotion and intricate detail of master hand painted Thangkas, a groundbreaking concept emerged: translating this sacred art form through the lens of Nanjing's most revered heritage.
Originating from the historic Jiangning Imperial Silk Manufacturing Department, Yunjin, also known as Cloud Brocade, is a pinnacle of ancient Chinese textile engineering. Historically reserved exclusively for royal garments, the technique is famous for its intricate weaving of gold, silver, and vibrant silk threads. The process is so demanding and precise that it remains impossible to fully mechanize even today.
This Six Character Mantra Thangka brings that imperial legacy into the present. It was meticulously hand woven by a dedicated collective of eight master artisans who share a deep, generational bond, having previously worked alongside Yuchen's grandfather. Their decades of expertise are woven into every thread, transforming the silk into a luminous, highly textured mandala of spiritual energy.
Measuring 100cm by 65cm, the artwork captures the sacred geometry of the mantra, encircled by vibrantly detailed auspicious creatures including dragons, tigers, and snow lions.
