☀️ A sunburst in bone
A round wall mirror framed in rays of hand cut bone radiating out from the glass, each ray tapered by hand so the fan opens evenly the whole way round. Every piece is cut, shaped and set individually, then levelled and polished flush.
Sunburst mirrors are usually gilded resin or carved wood. This one is built the way a bone inlay chest is built, one piece at a time, which is why the rays catch light differently along their length instead of reading as a flat gold surface.
✦ What makes it work on a wall
It reads as sculpture when the light is low and as a mirror when the light is on it, so the wall never looks empty.
The radiating form fills a lot of wall for its glass size, useful above a console or a dresser where a plain round mirror looks undersized.
Bone against a dark ground holds its contrast from across a room, unlike gilt which flattens out at distance.

Overall diameter includes the rays. Mirror glass is the reflective centre. Measure your wall against the overall figure.
🪵 What it is made from
Buffalo bone, hand cut into individual rays and set into a solid hardwood frame. The bone is a byproduct of the food industry. The ground is applied and hand polished flush with the bone so the surface finishes level.
Every ray on this mirror was cut, placed and polished by a person. The pattern is built into the piece rather than printed onto it.
🔨 Made in our own workshop
We manufacture directly. That means we control the pattern, the colour and the finish from the first cut to the final polish, and it means we can build this mirror in a size or colourway that does not exist in our catalogue yet.
🔩 Hanging
Arrives with mounting hardware fitted to the back and ready to hang. We recommend a wall fixing rated for the weight of your chosen size, and a stud or masonry fixing rather than plasterboard alone on the medium and large.
📦 Shipping
Fully insured including the glass, crated for freight with the mirror face protected. Assembly is not required.

Wipe the frame with a soft dry cloth. Clean the glass with a cloth rather than spraying directly onto the mirror, so liquid does not sit against the bone. Indoor use.
