The Tinian is a travertine and oak coffee table, a compact, self-contained table built around a single block of travertine. Stone and timber are set in deliberate balance here, the travertine carrying the surface and the oak grounding it beneath.
Titanium travertine shares the layered, sedimentary character of its Roman cousin in a cooler register, its banding running from silver through to charcoal rather than warm beige. It reads as quiet and contemporary, a travertine at home in monochrome and pared-back rooms. The oak answers in kind: solid European oak smoked to a near-black brown, its grain still legible beneath the finish, so the travertine and oak read as two tones of a single warmth. Each top is cut from its own block, so no two of these travertine and oak coffee tables share the same figure.
Underneath, a solid oak base carries the weight. Two boards are set perpendicular and slotted one through the other into an interlocking cross-leg structure, the join shown rather than hidden, so the craft of the piece and the support of it are one and the same.
As a travertine and oak coffee table it holds a room quietly, as at ease in a living room as anywhere. The Tinian is an Italian coffee table made to order in Cantù, in Lombardy's long-established furniture district, drawn from a palette of full-slab stone, solid timber, and premium Italian glass.
