Estuary Transition #1 is a striking original artwork from my Natural Transition Collection, designed to capture the quiet drama where land, water, and sky converge. Using horizontal bands of reclaimed wood, this piece creates a natural visual flow—beginning with rich earthy tones at the base, shifting into layered midtones that evoke waterways and island forms, and opening upward into a soft, luminous sky-like gradient.
Handcrafted from 15 different species of reclaimed domestic and exotic woods, each strip was carefully selected for its grain, tone, and character. Every species brings its own natural coloration—no stains or dyes are ever used. All material was responsibly salvaged from sources where it would have otherwise become landfill waste or firewood, transforming discarded wood into functional, modern art.
The result is a warm, textural, sculptural piece that feels organic yet contemporary, blending seamlessly with modern, minimalist, rustic, and organic-modern interiors.
