The Enamel Abstract Armoire is a one-of-a-kind piece designed and hand-finished in Morgan Clayhall's Toronto studio. With over two decades of design expertise, the studio crafts bespoke furniture that seamlessly combines functionality and artistry.
The artwork on the doors is created by Murray Duncan, featuring layers of mixed media painted by hand, resulting in a large-scale abstraction. The composition consists entirely of abstract forms, skillfully exploring the expressive potential of painting. Complex layers of lines and washes of paint interact, mediating and reviewing artistic expression through a process of replication, erasure, and manipulation of the line. The final piece is sealed with high-gloss resin, enhancing its depth and vibrancy.
The cabinet body is constructed from walnut, stained in rich ebony, and sits atop a sleek steel base finished in durable matte black. The base measures 24 inches in height, and the cabinet body stands at 60 inches, offering a commanding yet elegant presence.
The interior is thoughtfully designed, featuring one fixed shelf and two adjustable shelves to accommodate various storage needs.
