We met this Canada Goose (or "Canadian Goose", if you're from the States) in a hospital parking lot in Markham, Ontario. I ended up spending half an afternoon with him, camped out near the car while he just did his thing.
He wasn't bothered by people or cars at all, just hanging out like it was his personal lawn. It was one of those weird little moments that sticks with you.
The foliage nearly broke me on this one. Getting all those layers of leaves and grass to feel right took forever, but I'm pretty happy with how it came together in the end!

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Catherine Hébert is a wildlife and animal artist based in Montreal, Canada. She has a background in visual effects and brings that same eye for detail and colour to every painting. Many of her pieces are inspired by real animals she's met. A crow on a hotel balcony in DC, a round pigeon in a Seoul subway station, a pheasant who keeps showing up in her sister's yard in Nova Scotia. She also paints live during her weekly Thursday evening livestream, where viewers hang out, chat, and sometimes even name the paintings!
