Chris Becker creates luminous, atmospheric photographs that evoke a quiet sense of mystery. Each work is produced using museum-quality archival materials and conservation standards suitable for gallery and exhibition display. Born in Minnesota, he studied photography at Ohio University before assisting established photographers in New York City from 1989 to 1992. After living and working in Taiwan, he collaborated with Honeywell, major advertising agencies, and leading travel magazines. He later returned to New York to exhibit his fine art before relocating to coastal Maine. Now based in Kennebunk, Maine, Chris operates a working studio and gallery in nearby Kennebunkport. His work is rooted in fine art and editorial documentary traditions, guided by a deep sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and the natural landscape.
