Hans Gottsacker started Tapio with a comprehensive line of lighting and furniture on the rugged shores of Lake Superior in Marquette, Michigan in 2018. He holds a BFA in Woodworking and Furniture Design from Northern Michigan University and an MFA in Woodworking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His designs are inspired by a 6 month arts fellowship spent in northern Finland as well as various travels and research throughout Scandinavia. Hans continues to develop new designs and further add to the Tapio catalogue with an informed design sense and a playful creative flair.IMPACT
