"Fiber Art - Book Art - Paintings"
My name is QLara Wollock, but everybody calls me Q.
I am an artist living in the beautiful northwest with my three super-cool kids, a few cats, and a house that is packed to the brim with art supplies.

I love working with my hands, whether it's using traditional tools or digital. Often I try to repurpose items like salvaged books, discarded house paint, or recycled cotton fibers.

I'm also an avid reader, a movie buff, musician, baker, cake decorator, animal lover, craft show enthusiast, and collector of pointless 80s trivia.

Q&A

How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?

"Sometimes I let the colors dictate the shape of the piece. For example, if I am loving the way a pale, dusty blue looks, it might become a larger element than originally planned."

Q&A

What do you want people to do or feel when they encounter your creations?

"I want people to see both the beauty and the imperfections that make something handmade and unique."

Q&A

What funny moments, unexpected surprises, or obstacles have you encountered?

"I had a giant sunflower in my backyard, and I let it stay until it was way past the end of the flower's life. When I finally got around to pulling the 9-foot stalk out of the ground, it was perfectly dry and sturdy, not bendy at all. I cut it into three 3 foot lengths, and they were perfect for macrame wall hangings - strong, straight, but very lightweight. I had never used one before!"
