PLINTH Coffee Table by Donatas Zukauskas
A large sculptural bio cement coffee table conceived as a central spatial object — equally appropriate for residential interiors, design projects, galleries, and curated environments where furniture is selected as an expressive element, not just a utility. PLINTH's form is restrained and architectural; its surface is deliberately raw and textured. A reinforced internal structure allows the table to support significant weight, making it as functional as it is formal.
The material is developed through years of personal experimentation: recycled paper pulp and cardboard — the second life of wood — combined with organic cement, binders, and paint to produce a composite that looks like cast stone but behaves differently. It is lighter than real concrete, slightly elastic rather than brittle, and sealed for long-term indoor durability. Donatas calls it the third life of wood: a material given entirely new properties through process.
Rather than concealing material irregularities, the table highlights them, giving each piece distinct character and tactile presence. Imperfection as a way to create beauty.
Each piece is handmade and unique — minor variations in texture and form are intentional and part of the design. Made-to-order. Custom dimensions available on request. Trade pricing available. Ships internationally. Lead time 4–8 weeks.
Designed, crafted and built by Donatas Zukauskas — a Lithuanian sculptor and designer whose furniture sits at the intersection of brutalist materiality and quiet, considered form.
