This is a reproduction fine art print of an original watercolor painting on paper by Kim Knoll. The paper used for my art prints is a natural white, heavyweight (200gsm), cotton fine art paper that’s acid-free with a smooth texture and matte finish. All artworks use giclée printing with archival-grade inks. While in the Cinque Terre, I heard about a secret beach, so of course I convinced my partner to go on the adventure with me to find it. We walked through an abandoned train tunnel for 1 mile in total darkness to get there. This painting was inspired by the moment when I started to see light, knowing we were almost there. Get this abstract artwork as a framed print.

Kim Knoll is an abstract painter, traveler, and equal parts nature lover and city girl living in the heart of Chicago. In her work, negative space is often more important than adding the next mark. Using mixed media on paper, her process strikes a balance between intention and spontaneity, mirroring her impulse to control but also surrender.

Working with a limited palette and so much thought put into each layer, she lets water and pigment lead the way to create unexpected textures and unique forms that show the organic, imperfect nature of being human. This practice is a testament to Kim's philosophy that beauty and peace often emerge when control is let go and uncertainty is embraced, leading to a sense of liberation as she creates.

Each year, she spends time in different parts of the world exploring on foot. These experiences inspire new perspectives and guide her work. Taking cues from nature, some works are more clearly depictions of a place, while others might refer to a sensation or emotion she felt in a certain moment.

She hopes her paintings and prints create a connection that invites you to pause, slow down, and become present long enough to restore your own peace and the simple joy of being.
