A spin-off of one of my more popular cabinets, “The Gunnison” pulls inspiration directly from one of our lore popular cabinets, “The Capitan”.

“The Gunnison” draws its name from the large, flat face of Black Canyon of The Gunnison National Parks “The Painted Wall”.

This cabinet features intentional lumber selection for the highest character & grain figure achievable in the front-face, continuous grained sliding doors make the statement of The Gunnison. Hand cut half-blind dovetail joinery, and a solid 1/2” walnut back panel for permanent stability & strength make up this cabinets construction. Soft tapered brushed-nickel door hardware inset into the doors provide a subtle angle breakup from the dominating square features of the cabinet. The Gunnison features up to (2) full width adjustable shelf interior, with stainless steel shelf pin hardware. Each cabinet is finished by hand using a high-solid hard wax oil satin clear finish.

The Gunnison cabinet features out hand shaped, angular “Revisionist” base design.

Pictured cabinet was a custom piece, 56”L x 34”T (24” cabinet height, 10” base height) x 16”D.

Finely handcrafted furniture focusing on the balance between sustainable design & customization that help people love their spaces.

At the Handhold Studio, we value “slow design”. We value the process of “handholding” our clients through design ideas & the build process. We value taking the time to find the perfect fit, and then building it with our hands.

For Clients — We prioritize timeless & functional designs created for your spaces, to keep real furniture in your home for a lifetime. At the Handhold Studio, we encourage fairly priced + custom designed furniture. Creative work is some of our favorite, and we do love to explore it. Some of our greatest works have come from the need to solve a storage or aesthetic problem creatively; Liquor & Wine storage, Sideboards, & Credenzas are furnitures that we’ve honed our design & building execution with.

For Designers - Trade Pricing available. We’d love the opportunity to collaboratively design + craft furniture for you, your client, or your business.

We contacted Christopher to create a custom walnut wood bar for our interior design client. We specifically needed one with a spot for a wine fridge. The bar he created is absolutely stunning! The craftsmanship is beautiful and the size is perfect. Not only is the final product amazing, Christopher is a real gem of a human to work with! He is kind, accommodating, and has fantastic communication. We are SO happy, and hope to work with him again on more custom pieces for clients! - Parlour & Palm interior design (Photos by Christopher Dibble)
