We weave our music, we replay our cassette tapes

J. J. Chuan is a Singapore-based artist and designer whose practice bridges sustainability, material innovation and social design. A graduate of Parsons The New School of Design, she has lived and worked in Singapore, Malaysia, New York and Shanghai, shaping a multi-local perspective that informs her creative work.

She is best known for pioneering MusicCloth®, a textile woven from discarded cassette and video tapes developed through her upcycling initiative Rehyphen®.
