The marbled redwood (light and dark) told me what to do with it - I just let the wood guide me for this piece. Three layers of reclaimed redwood, laminated, carved and finished with linseed oil to bring out the natural colors of the wood. The outside is finished with black chalkboard paint. Each of the 10 wood tiles measures about 5.7 x 5.7 inches.
