Archival diptych pigment print on Hahnemuehle FineArt Baryta Paper. This photo of a giant Sequoia was taken in Kings Canyon National Park, in California.

I took a trip to shoot in the Sequoias last year on my birthday. I felt inspired after reading “The Hidden Life of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben. His findings are that the entire forest is a super organism and that it survives and thrives as one large mass. An ecosystem not based on the individual, but the totality of the forest family. The forest’s sophisticated existence struck me as a metaphor, with their saintly ways, they are truly “ambassadors from another time”. Roaming through the Sequoias that day, I was given a great gift of fog. The hike left me wet and cold but feeling very full.
