Inhale and Exhale are companion pieces inspired by my time at La Concha Beach in San Sebastián, Spain. I noticed small details along the shore: pebble-dragging marks in the wet sand, fine lines etched into seashells, the unusual jagged rock formations pressed into the promenade wall, and the soft, wispy clouds in the sky. These subtle impressions became the language of these two paintings. Inhale invites an intake of calm, of presence, of clarity. Exhale offers release, a letting go, a softening. Like two parts of a single breath, they mirror each other in tone and rhythm. Their light palette embodies the sensation of breathing with the weightlessness of air and the contrast of tension and release. Inhale and Exhale are sold separately. A decorative canvas floater frame can be added for an additional cost.
